A Message from the SAC Director

Despite the Global Economic Crisis, 2009 appears to be a year of change and growth for Strategic Angel Care (SAC).  We are working on a number of new initiatives to further the mission of SAC.

In April, I visited Estonia to explore the possibility of serving orphans there.  The doors seemed to be wide open.  Several months ago I explored the possibility of working in the Ukraine.  However, the doors seemed to be closed to us and potential didn’t materialize.  Estonia welcomed us with open arms!  We will have a mission trip to Estonia in the spring of 2010.  Please read the cover story about the trip to Estonia and the Orphanage at Kohtla-Nomme.

SAC is working on a new more fully featured website that we hope to release in the next couple of months.  This new site will allow giving online, video, slide shows, ways to get connected with SAC, archived newsletters, and much more.  We are excited about what new demission this will bring to the SAC ministry.

In July SAC will begin a “SAC Prayer Team” led by Lisa Robertson from Hunters’ Glen Baptist Church that will meet monthly, pray for SAC, and give input back to SAC on the prayer direction from the Lord.

In a partnership with the New Horizons Orphan Hosting Program, SAC will begin helping families in North Texas to host a young orphan in their home for 4-6 weeks in the winter and summer.  Although this is not an adoption program, many of these orphans are adopted into “forever families” as a result of this program.  It’s a great way to be a missionary to an orphan in your own home and show them the love of a Christian family.  Look for more information about this program in the fall.

Also, in a partnership with Ant Farms Digital Studios and Randall Mills from Hunters’ Glen Baptist Church, we will begin a program called “Operation iOpportunity” to give orphans the opportunity to receive free online training and online job opportunities in web development and computer graphics.  For graduate orphans who have trouble finding work due to the stigma of being an orphan, this project will allow them to overcome this stigma, build confidence, and acquire an employable skill.

These are exciting times at SAC and the future looks bright!    — John M. Neese
