Mission Trip Specific Job Description




Position: Lead Translators


Purpose: To provide translation, guide services, leadership, and mission trip assistance as required for mission trip participants so they can build relationships with orphans, hurting children and staff at ministry sites.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Comply with all the items listed in the Translator job description in addition to the following.


  1. Lead trip participant groups by guiding them through the city to ministry sites, restaurants, meetings, shopping, and touring opportunities.


  1. Lead translators will have their meals covered by the SAC ministry. Provide an expense report and receipts to the Mission Trip Director within the guidelines set by the SAC ministry for meal expenses.


  1. Lead translators will have their cell phone minutes covered by the SAC ministry in the coordination of activities associated with the mission trip. Provide an expense report and estimated minutes used to the Mission Trip Director within the guidelines set by the SAC ministry for cell phone expenses.


  1. Turn in a completed expense report for all hours worked, meals, cell phone use, and other expenses to the Mission Trip Director for payment on the last day services are rendered.


  1. Serve as an experienced translator and mentor to help with other newer translators in their relationship with the ministry team and their translation skills.


  1. Advise the Mission Trip Director in the coordination of schedule changes to work out the best solution to accommodate the new schedule.


  1. Advise the Mission Trip Director about restaurants in the area of the ministry site that would be economical and quick to serve.
