Mission Trip Specific Job Description

Position: Medical Coordinator

Purpose: To provide first aid and medical needs of participants during the trip.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Obtain necessary medications and supplies to meet the needs of trip participants while on the mission trip and/or render first aid.

2. Review the medical information of each trip participant and ensure daily medication is taken as required.

3. Maintain HIPPA standards at all times.

4. Administer over-the-counter medications and treatments as prescribed to trip participants while on the mission trip.

5. Assess the health status of each trip participant on an ongoing basis while on the mission trip.

6. Ensure all trip participants are getting enough sleep while on the mission trip and help enforce normal sleep routines.

7. Be available to answer questions regarding health problems.

8. Know the emergency procedures, phone numbers, and trip insurance procedures that will need to be initiated in case of an in-country medical emergency.

9. Advise the Mission Trip Director of any medical concern during the mission trip.
