Family Photo Album

Each trip participant should bring with them a small photo album that shows pictures of your family. Albums that hold 4x6 photos and can hold 25-50 pictures are readily available, but usually a group of 10-15 photos is fine. Casual pictures work best.

This photo album is used on the first day of ministry when building relationships with your small group. The kids love to see pictures of your family and will swarm around you to see these pictures! This is a great way to build relationships as they begin to interact with you and ask questions about your life.

Some suggested pictures to include are;

    1. A casual group picture of your family

    2. Your spouse

    3. Your children or grandchildren

    4. Friends

    5. Your pets

    6. Your children engaged in activities;

      1. Sports events

      2. School activities

      3. Recreational activities

      4. Summer camps

    7. Family events

      1. Weddings

      2. Reunions

      3. Birthdays

      4. Births

      5. Vacations

It’s important that you avoid photos that show luxury or wealthy abundance. This can give the wrong impression to Russian orphans. Most Russians already think that just because you are an American that you are fabulously rich. SAC does not want to perpetrate that perception. So, it’s best if you emphasize relationships rather than wealth.

Some pictures topics to avoid are;

  1. Anything showing wealth or abundance

  2. Formal posed pictures

  3. Pictures wearing expensive clothes

  4. An expensive car

  5. A huge house

  6. In front of a Christmas tree with a huge number of presents

  7. Pictures that show expensive jewelry being worn

  8. Anything in the background of a picture suggesting wealth
