LIGHT:

The light represents God, the “Creator of the Heavens and the Earth” (Genesis 1:1). The Bible says “God is Light; in Him there is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5). He loves us and He wants us to spend eternity with Him.

DARKNESS:

The darkness of sin separates us from God. Sin is anything we do or think that goes against the will of God. The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). God cannot accept us with our sins. Our sins MUST be removed before we can be forgiven and have eternal life with God.

JESUS:

God loves us so much that He gave us a way for our sins to be removed! The Bible says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

God sent His own Son, Jesus, to earth as a man. Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for our sins so that He could bring us to God. There is NOTHING we can do on our own to get rid of our sins. Only the BLOOD OF JESUS can wash away our sins. That is why God had to send His Son to die for us.

STONE:

After Jesus died, men buried Him in a tomb that was sealed with a huge stone and guarded by Roman soldiers.

JESUS ALIVE:

On the third day God raised Jesus from the dead! An angel came to roll away the stone, and the soldiers were so afraid they fainted! Jesus then appeared to many people before returning to His Father in Heaven. There Jesus sits at the right hand of God.

CROSS:

Now we all have a way to come to God – through Jesus! By dieing on the cross, Jesus has paid the penalty that God demands for our sins. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

But just KNOWING these facts does not bring us to God. We must respond by trusting in Jesus alone as the only One who can forgive our sins and give us eternal live. Jesus says “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life” (John 5:24).

But He also warns us “Whoever does NOT believe stands condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name of God’s one and only Son” (John 3:18). Jesus alone offers us the free gift of eternal life with God!

HANDS:

Once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He will never let us go. In my favorite Bible verses, Jesus promises: “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; NO ONE can snatch them out of My hand. My Father, Who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are One” (John 10:27-30).

This is a good place to do the example of the handshake where I do not let go. Satan might try to pull us away from Jesus, but Jesus will never let us go.

You might be asking yourself now – how do I accept Jesus as my Savior? The Bible says “If you confess with your mouth that ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

When you are ready to trust Christ with all your heart, you can say a prayer to God and tell him. But it is important to understand that it is not the words of the prayer that save you. God saves you when you put your faith in Jesus. And once you are saved, you should do the following things to show your love for God, and to grow spiritually for the rest of your life:

LOVE God and all people. Show others the love of Jesus inside you.

PRAY all the time.

STUDY the Bible daily, so that you can learn more about God.

MEET regularly with other Christians, encouraging each other.

TELL other people the good news about Jesus.

SUGGESTED PRAYER:

Dear God, thank you for loving me. I confess that I have sinned against You, and I repent of my sins. I believe that Your Son, Jesus, died on a cross to pay for my sins and that You raised Him from the dead. I now put my faith and trust in Jesus alone to forgive me and take away all my sins. I confess that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Thank you Father for Your gift of eternal life! I pray this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen
